BT Diverse 6450, Excellent product!

Have had this phone/answer-machine for about 9 months and i’m delighted with it. I bought it after reading a positive review in the guardian’s family section and i haven’t been disappointed. It was quite expensive in comparison to other products on the market but worth every penny. It’s got loads of great features such as:- sim card reader so you can copy your mobile phonebook(s) onto it- option to save numbers from received and missed calls lists- ‘find’ button to locate handset when lost- beltclipi’ve had a couple of powercuts and none of my numbers/info has been lost. Also the handset has never cut out or needed batteries replacing (an annoying feature of a previous cable & wireless handset). Overall very impressive and would really recommend.

Had this phone for the past 6 months or so and really like it. It looks stylish and feels like a solid, quality phone. Easy to use even without referring to instructions. Lovely, bright, coloured screen so you can see at a glance who’s calling or if you have missed calls or messages. Connections to base are just fine (unlike my last bt phone).

There are so many things this little gadget can do and for the price i paid i think i got a real bargain, brilliant get one while you can. The only thing i’d say is when you use it, use the cables it came with as it maybe incompatable with older ones.

BT Diverse 6450 – DECT Cordless Phone with Digital Answering Machine : I bought this phone about two years ago. I am only doing a review now as i have just bought another one for a christmas present for friends. I guess that shows how good i think it is. You could argue the phone is quite expensive, but “you get what you pay for” as they say. I think the phone is quite stylish and it is also very functional. Good points:big colour display with clear iconssimple to use but with advanced features tooon hold (secrecy) buttonlarge enough buttons that feel solidhands free facilityclip (useful for hands free calls)illuminated keypadremote answering machine facility (check messages whilst away from home)texting facilityfacility to find the phone if you lose ityou can create your own ringtones and wallpaperstores loads of numberslong redial listsim card download feature (i read it doesn’t work with 3g sims though)digital sound qualityeasy to use and clear answering machine accessible both from base and handsetbad: (not much)the bt logo fell off (glued back on again). The volume isn’t the loudest i guess, but unless you live in a noisy household this shouldn’t present a problem. I have found it fine, but then i do live alone. Perhaps screaming kids in the background could be a problemthe silver on the bt lettering rubbed off (bt have now taken this off the phone, probably for this reason).

  1. This review is from : BT Diverse 6450 – DECT Cordless Phone with Digital Answering Machine

It is a good phone which replaced the diverse 6250. So far it has been working very well and we have not had any problems with it. It stores the phone numbers of people who have rung whilst you are out which is a very good plus point. The re-dial option is very handy and so is the answering machine. I have been able to store 50 numbers for easy dial. I would recommend it to anyone.

    1. I bought the bt diverse 3016 classic wireless phone around 8 years ago which was brilliant and never failed in all that time. Unfortunately the keys became a problem so i decided it was about time to splash out and get a new one. Since the last bt diverse was such a great phone i thought i’d give them another go. The new phone and answering machine are quite sturdy and of reasonable quality. I use the hand free facility often so i wanted the quality to be the same as my last phone. It is pretty good and i’ve had no complaints from the people i phone or the callers phoning me. There is a small plastic clip attached to the back of the phone which quite happy slides onto the top of my jumper or t-shirt. One thing to be aware of is that the speaker is on the phone and not on the answering machine which allows you to wander freely round the house carrying out other tasks at the same time. It has a very good range so no problems with the signal.
