Connected Essentials CEH50 Telephone Headset, Very pleased with the quality of this phone headset

I’ve struggled with other headsets and earpieces, being either uncomfortable or too quiet. This one is the best i’ve used so far with my gigaset voip handset. Adjustable and comfortable to wear with good sound quality.

Does the job with my cordless phone, simples. Now i can talk hands free whilst on my laptop.

Really pleased with this telephone headset. Only took a few minutes to set up and both the reception and the microphone are crystal clear. The earphones are more comfortable than previous models i have tried and the mute facility works perfectly.

I am a telecommuting worker and my work involves organizing and attending a lot of client calls. I dislike using the speaker phone due to the lack of clarity and prefer using headsets. My previous headset (accutone tb710) gave up on me after an year of moderate use. Price not being a critical constraint, i was looking for a headset that would be lightweight (as i occasionally attend fairly long calls), and of course, clarity was important. I settled on this headset since it seemed to fit the bill and i am glad i chose this. I have attended a few calls using this and the voice clarity is excellent. The headset is also lightweight and sits well on the head without being too tight. Longevity is something i cannot comment on as i have had it only for a few days, but overall, it seems to be a great purchase and i am pleased with it. Just as a fyi, my phone is a bt converse 2300 and this headset is compatible with it.

Excellent headphones which keep my hands free for taking notes while on the telephone. A little pricey but worth the money, really pleased i took this decision. They seem robust for use in a busy office and are easy to fit comfortably.

Connected Essentials CEH50 Telephone Headset for Digital Cordless Telephones (DECT) : I have now purchase five sets of these headphones for use by volunteers of a charitable organisation and they are excellent, easy to use and fit, and of real benefit to volunteers who have difficulty in holding a telephone receiver for a considerable length of time.

Comfortable but the maximum volume is still quite low. . Fine headset, relatively comfortable. The little in-line control is clear to use, although the mute switch is a bit fiddly, a few times i thought i was muted but i was not. My main complain though is that, even at maximum volume, it is quite low. To compound that, the volume switch is very easy to accidentally lower, just by rubbing it against your shirt a little. Overall, for the money it does the job, but if i was buying again and there were other slightly better options, i would try something else.

Decent budget headset, works fine. Decent headset, does what it says. Only reason for 4-stars is that the ear-pad section is smaller than i’m used to or than it seems when looking at photos and so it can sit a little odd on your ear sometimes as it’s a smaller oval shape instead of a larger circular shape.

      1. Very pleased with the quality of this phone headset. Very pleased with the quality of this phone headset, which i use with my panasonic cordless home phone. It has a great sound quality, and compared to three other headsets i’ve owned over the last ten years it’s the most comfortable one to wear. I find it not only relieves discomfort in holding the phone in my hands for a more lengthy call, it allows me to easily cook a meal, make a cup of tea, even clean while still being free to continue the conversation. I’d be lost without one of these.

    1. Good grip, good sound, flexible mic. . This headset was recommended to me after i experienced problems with a panasonic headset, panasonic hands-free headset which kept slipping off my head when in use. The ceh50 fits much more snugly, but without being too tight, and does not slip at all. The volume control also has a much larger range than the panasonic model, even though i use it with panasonic handsets panasonic kx-tg8062eb twin colour dect phone set with answer machine the ceh50 volume goes much louder, although if turned to the maximum it introduces a fairly loud hum, but not below around 80% full. This improved sound level has much improved my ability to hear others, compared not only to the panasonic headset, but also my old plantronics m175, which i used to think was the best (sadly no longer available). The boom mic is the only slight disappointment with this headset, as it needs to be fairly close to your mouth to be effectively heard, just a little up or down and you need to speak much louder. Also if you have it too close, although the foam wind guard protects the mic from wind from your mouth, it still picks up any downdraft from your nose, causing a distracting background noise. So positioning the mic takes a little bit of trial and error to find the best position, but the wire of the boom arm is extremely flexible and holds any position you give it. As with the panasonic headset the boom mic pf the ceh50 does get in the way of drinking from a cup, unless you move the mic up, which was one of the great things about the sleeker design of the plantronics m175, on which the boom arm was more to the side and so not a problem. Unless you talk for long periods of time on the phone this would not be a problem.

  7. Working rj11 headset – good for the price. You need to have the “utc configuration switch” – i ended up buying it separately with the ceh5, but it comes with the ceh10 (same headset). I could not get the ceh5 to work without it. The headset is maybe a little bit quiet, but generally very good. It’s very useful to have the mute switch and the button to switch between headset and handpiece, on the utc configuration switch. Also it’s great to have an rj11 connection headset, which works well with a standard telephone. It has lasted for one year, with daily use. Now the microphone connection has become loose and it is on longer usable unfortunately. A slightly beefier speaker, and a volume control, would be very useful – just a bit more volume would be very helpful on some calls. If i can’t find an alternative mono-aural rj11 headset with a more powerful speaker and maybe a slightly more solid construction, then i will buy this headset again.

    1. Comfortabe enough for a few hours on the phone at once, too. Microphone position easy to adjust.

  9. I work from home and often need to spend quite a long time on the phone, often at the same time using my computer and mouse. I bought a bt cordless phone set, with a 2. 5mm jack socket – specifically to be able to use a wired headset. I was using another make and model for the past 2 years, but it started to play up, so i looked for something new. I have had this headset for about a month now – and i find it excellent. It is light and comfortable for wearing for a long duration, but it feels stable on my head, without exerting any undue pressure. The volume is excellent – both on what i hear through the speaker, and as heard by the people on the other end of the line. My contacts report that the sound is clear and un-muffled. I prefer a wired set such as this to a bluetooth arrangement, as this allows me to start a call using the handset as normal, and then if i wish, i can just plug the headset into the handset and continue via the headset.

Incoming sound quality is great, much better than the panasonic that it replaced. Bought to replace an old and rapidly wearing out panasonic set that i bought to match the phone. Probably a bit over the top for home use but appears to be well made. Incoming sound quality is great, much better than the panasonic that it replaced. Setting the mic up was ok with help from my colleagues, although i speak quite loudly, i still need to have the mic close in front of my mouth.
