Purchased these to replace the older system and am really impressed with the quality, ease of set up and use. I especially like the chopin waltz ring tone (one of many available) which is really lovely. The intercom connection is excellent and easy to operate so that i can talk to my partner when he is hiding in his shed. Would recommend this system to anyone.
Excellent quality and performance, shame about the handbook. I bought this panasonic set to replace an ageing set of bt cordless phones. I was guided by previous reviewers but with all equipment like this it’s more a question of not really knowing what suits you until you try it out. Just to say that i have not been disappointed. The speech reception is excellent and noise free (i’m on virgin cable), the display screen is excellent and the hands free facility also is very clear with a very good volume. We use the hands free quite frequently because my wife is disabled so she can join in any family conversations with no problem. Because we don’t get a lot of calls i don’t use caller id so i can’t comment on the facilities associated with that. The answer machine works well with the only drawback being that i haven’t learned the functions of all the buttons yet so i have to refer to the handbook. Speaking of the handbook this has all the information you want but i suspect it has been written by transcribing design engineer’s notes rather than having a good technical author producing a nice clear and easy reference for the user. It’s a bit too ‘techy’ (and i am a retired electronics engineer).
Quite satisfied and good value. . My experience with the 6522eb is quite positive. Enough ringtones ,how many do you need for goodness sake?. The thing i was concerned about was that my previous walkabout phone a panasonic old model, would not receive calls from the end of my back garden 45ft (not very big)nor would it receive calls in my garage through the walls. This one does it with ease, also it receives calls on the other side of the road opposite my house probably also about 45 ft. My house is of brick construction throughout. Apparently it’s possible to buy a device which extends the range even further like a relay station. The answerphone base unit lights up (small red light) when when there is a stored message, you can access and clear the messages from either hand set or the base unit. The handsets can be used as intercoms. The ringer volumes can be adjusted to suit, even turned off.
I got this for the office after being very pleased for many years with the older/more expensive kx-tcd240e at home. Unfortunately it’s really not as good; much cheaper build quality on the main unit and the handset, smaller capacity phone book which quickly fills up and, most annoyingly, the slightest break in power supply (which we get quite often here) loses the handset’s time and date settings, which you will need in order to keep tabs on when messages were left. This irritation is magnified by the ludicrously complicated instruction manual and very non-intuitive process of changing/re-programming the various settings. All in all it’s ‘ok’ – and probably fine if you’ve never had anything like it before – but it really is a cut-down/basic version of what panasonic could do for you at the to of their range. Like the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
We needed a set of three wireless phones. One for the kitchen, one for the bedroom and one for the garage. The wireless range to the garage was the critical criteria. The master unit is in the kitchen and the bedroom unit is two rooms offset vertically above. The wireless signal to the garage has to penetrate two walls, one set of double glazed conservatory windows, 25 metres of open ground and another set of double glazed doors into the converted garage/art studio. The phones themselves are easy to set up using the instructions that are easy to follow. Sound is good but we have to have the volume set on the highest setting. The selection of ring tones are appalling but i suppose we’ll get used to the default one eventually. We don’t use the inbuilt answer phone, preferring to use 1571 instead.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Great value for money – good quality phones
- Excellent quality and performance, shame about the handbook
- Fantastic phone, good value for money!!
Quality product at an affodable price. Easy to use, good battery life and a quality feel to the handset make this product a real pleasure to use. The buttons are large enough for those of us with slighty larger hands and the sound quality on the panasonic handset leaves my previous trendy slimline dect unit well and truly resigned to the recycling bin. Answerphone on the base is far easier to use than some, which can only be accessed via the handset, however this little beauty is fully functionable from both the base unit and via the handset. Not requiring a telephone socket for the second handset also presents this product as a more flexible option, all you need is a power socket and hey presto. I was slightly scepticale when i saw the price but all in all i would thoroughly recommend this package.
There are better phones out there but for the price this cannot be faulted. It was easy to set up and programe the numbers into the handset with a useful feature that transfers the numbers to the 2nd handset at a touch of a button.
